Both doctors job-share in the practice. Dr Anderson is on duty all day on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday morning. Dr Wride is on duty on Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and Friday. Both provide a full range of medical services, including maternity, contraception, minor surgery and child health surveillance.

A doctor is always available during our opening hours. The practice is using Devon Doctors on Call for out-of-hours cover when the surgery is closed. Occasionally, fully qualified and experience local doctors are used to provide locum cover.

Both practice nurses work on a part-time basis. They provide valuable help with health education, screening, immunizations and chronic disease clinics in addition to their work in the treatment room.

Practice Management

richard The practice manager looks after all the non-clinical aspect of running a busy dispensing surgery. The aim of the practice manager is to ensure that all patients receive a professional and efficient service from every member of the Practice.

There is a tremendous amount of paperwork that needs to be organised to provide excellent care. Our secretaries type dictated letters from the doctors, and provide administrative support for the practice manager in ensuring that the Practice meets its NHS contractual obligations.

Working in a busy doctor’s practice can be quite stressful for receptionists. They often deal with patients in the reception, as well as answering telephone calls on two different lines. The receptionist is responsible to sort the post and handle any patient’s queries. They are very knowledgeable, acting as the first point of contact for the Practice.

District Nurses provide valuable help and support to the Practice. They work together as a team to visit housebound patients to look after their health needs. They work closely with the doctors and the rest of the practice team in providing excellent care for our patients.

Pharmacy Technician

They are responsible for overseeing the smooth running of our dispensary. They regularly meet with medical representatives, and ensure that a certain level of stock is kept at all times. There are many regulations that dispensers need to adhere to, and training needs are constantly updated
